DND Override is an Android utility by Pod27. This policy describes the current app version represented by package com.dndoverride.app.

Information the app can access

After you grant Android notification access, the notification-listener service receives notifications posted by other apps. It reads the posting app's package name and visible notification title/message fields to evaluate your rules. The app also lists installed launchable apps so you can choose an app for a rule and reads Android's current interruption-filter state and alarm volume.

If you choose a custom alert sound, Android's document picker grants access to that selected audio file.

How information is used

Matching happens on the device. When DND is active, alarm volume is above zero and an enabled rule matches, DND Override plays the rule's selected sound with alarm audio attributes. It does not modify Android's DND policy.

Storage and backup

Rules are stored in the app's private preferences. They may include an app package/label, keywords or one regex pattern, matching options, enabled state and a sound URI. The app does not store a history of notification contents. Android backup or device transfer may include saved rules because app backup is enabled.

Network use and third parties

No account is required, and the app contains no advertising or developer-added analytics or tracking SDK. Notification matching does not contact a developer-operated server. Google Play Billing is included for the optional one-time unlimited-rules purchase; that dependency adds internet and network-state permissions, Google Data Transport components and communication through Google Play services.

Permissions and special access

Notification access: required for Android to bind the notification-listener service and deliver posted notifications.
Selected file access: granted only to an audio file you choose through Android's document picker.

The current manifest does not request notification-policy access, Android 13 POST_NOTIFICATIONS, accessibility access, contacts, location, camera or microphone.

Deletion

Delete individual rules in the app. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it removes its local data. Android or Google backup copies are controlled by your device and Google account backup settings.
