Hear selected work and on-call alerts during DND

Let important work or monitoring notifications make a sound while routine updates stay quiet.

Prefer the supported on-call path

If your incident or communications platform provides acknowledgement, escalation, repeated alerts, phone calls, SMS or a dedicated critical notification channel, configure that system first. Those features know the incident state; a generic Android notification listener does not.

When work-app text matching helps

A busy chat, email or operations app may post both routine messages and escalation notices. An app-and-keyword rule can look for visible wording such as an agreed escalation phrase, severity label or incident prefix. Multiple keywords can require every configured term so ordinary messages are less likely to match.

DND Override has no direct integration with a named workplace or on-call platform. It does not read the service API, acknowledge incidents, inspect message history or notify other responders. It reacts only after the other Android app posts a notification.

Practical on-call checklist

Not an incident-management system: it cannot retry, escalate, acknowledge, call or guarantee delivery.

For infrastructure notifications, see server and monitoring alerts. For the matching model, read Android notification rules.
